The Lifelong Learning Council Queensland is an unfunded, voluntary, non-government organisation with a membership drawn from the broad spectrum of adult and community learning and education in the public, private and community arenas. The Council has a strong belief in the importance of lifelong learning.
According to Delors (1998) lifelong learning involves:
• learning to know, • learning to do, • learning to live and work together, and • learning to be.
This is underpinned by the importance of “learning how to learn”.
The Lifelong Learning Council Queensland is the peak organisation in the field and promotes adult and community learning in its diversity of forms and raises the profile of learning in the community.
