LLCQ has established Community Learning Insurance Queensland - a group cover for community groups.
|
This is a Group Insurance (bulk-purchasing) Scheme set up to help non-profit, community-based organisations meet their risk management needs through insurance at cost effective price.
Membership of this group has now reached over 60 organisations, including neighbourhood houses; community centres; adult education; literacy, language and numeracy groups; special interest groups; community service organisations working with youth, seniors, migrants, homeless, people with a disability; and many others.

In offering this service our aim is to:

 | help provide a network of organisations and individuals with an interest in adult and community education to help raise the profile of adult and community education in Queensland |  |
help provide a support base to assist the needs of providers of adult learning opportunities, the educators, administrators and managers, and others involved in lifelong learning |

The types of insurances available to organisations through this scheme include:

 | Public / Product Liability ($10,000,000) |  |
Personal Accident Insurance for volunteers and work experience ($100,000 and $250,000 limits) |  |
Association Liability covering Directors & Officers / Professional Indemnity / Employment Practices Liability, employee dishonesty, tutors and contractors (and other extensions) ($2,000,000 or $5,000,000), and |  |
Industrial Special Risks Insurance (covers property and contents for fire, theft, etc) |

The insurances offered through this scheme have been negotiated to cover the normal insurance needs of most organisations involved with adult education / learning / training programs (including school age tutoring) as well as a range of other activities and services.

The Lifelong Learning Council Queensland Inc. has appointed Coverforce Fairweather Turner Pty Ltd to negotiate with insurers for the scheme, and is not the insurance broker or Underwriter. LLCQ does not provide advice about insurance. |  |
All policies are placed with authorised Australian insurance companies. |  |
Access to members insurance information, policies, certificates of currency and schedules is available via a members only, password controlled web portal. |  |
The membership fee for the Lifelong Learning Council Queensland is $33 per annum for organisations and $30 for individuals, and all subscriptions fall due on 30th June each year. |
